| From the Where2sing.com forum: Thanks guys but yegods! THAT was what this was all about??? Methinks maybe lighten up a little. Seems to me it was meant tongue in cheek and given that their comment on the hosts and sound was positive, it's not like they're scaring anyone away. Looks like a balanced point of view. On the one hand, here's the crowd you can expect, on the other, here's the quality of the show. I don't know who posted it and I've never even been to the venue to my recollection but as a party potentially interested in attending a venue, that's the kind of info that I look for. As for the comment response of 'who cares?' Maybe the people who don't feel comfortable around people with disabilities. They're not all bigots. Some may have been scarred for life by an abusive parent or whomever with a mental problem. Maybe an epileptic driver suffered a fit at the wheel and careened into that person's family or the family of whomever they were planning to take to the club. The info of what to expect in a crowd is relevant. After Google-ing for images of 'sheltered workshops' I found the majority of members to be no different in appearance from those NOT in the workshops. Only someone with a bigoted view would think such people are all identifiable on sight or that appearance will tell you what they look like. If you go looking for stuff to offend you, you'll find it. Like I said, lighten up. I've got a great friend who's autistic for example as does one of my little brothers (and by little, I mean toddler) and neither looks any different from anyone else. Just because 'most people' in your opinion believe there is a 'look' to sheltered workshop members doesn't mean it's correct and that anyone who speaks out against it must be destroyed. Millions of Chinese believe Westerners to be disease ridden untouchables thanks to propoganda. That doesn't make them right. Millions of Muslims - yes MUSLIMS (ooh ma! he said the 'M' word. It's a valid word, deal with it) believe the West to be filled with infidels who must be converted or destroyed doesn't make them right. Just because millions of westerners believe what they do about other races, doesn't make them right. Re-evaluate your own values before you get all riled up over someone else's opinions. Had a comment been made of how patrons at a particular karaoke venue looked like they came out of the latest hip hop video clip but with less talent, would you be leaping to the fray then in their defence? What does that say about your own judgement of people? Is it any more valid than this anonymous reviewer's? Is theirs any LESS valid than yours!? I think not.
