| From the Where2sing.com forum: Jason... I think the success of the present Voting system on info that hosts place under gigs shows that a similar system might work, and the existing 'List a Gig' system could also be applied to the basic info from hosts.
Hosts could select answers from a list that had various categories (equipment, experience, present crowd size at gigs), and this would translate directly into a Star rating.
Some other components would also come into play:
- Insurance
- Legitmacy of discs
- Gig Agreement
Much like the present Voting, a host's Star Rating on the Hosts' page would have a Vote under it from their singers. Star Rating would therefore be flexible.
A host would be permanently unStarred for
- Using, or allowing to be used, a burnt disc
- Gross misrepresentation of facts in his submission.
The whole point is that the lesser hosts would avoid this system, giving better hosts a tangible advantage - but most of all a broad-based system across which to assess hosts against the different prices that they charge.
