Hi David - still alive and kicking but with a heavy summer cold due to too much airconditioning. I didn't get a chance to go singing in the West as I was not well enough plus a busy family schedule. Both my son and daughter are in Perth.
Yes, Vic, I was well aware of the ACT situation as I ventured there one Thursday and was horified to find about ten drunks in the bar and quickly moved on to 4 Mile Creek. Helen had told me what it was like and I had to have a peek for myself. What a great shame. You would remember Athena from behind the bar - she came to Everton Park as it became so rough and is still there.
Sure Mad Mart started it but he had no idea how to keep it. There was a tremendous local support for Rovics that would still be there today and at no extra cost of promotion for the management!! Figures are what counts over the bar and I doubt that place will ever recover. Even regular local drinkers have abandoned the place.
