| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi Tricia - Advertising outside and within the region weeks beforehand will attract registrations and bigger variety of entertainment, the normal week to week heat eliminator relies on week to week applicants and as we all know is usually contained by the locals until the 'Word' gets around, we had 46 contestants totally eliminating to 12 semi finalists contesting the main prizes over 10 weeks. If we market it well enough with an exceptional prize pool for winners we should kick off with more registrations than the total contestants of the previous and taking into account your statement re venue investment and expectations pre registration allows the venue to market and prepare for the event and or judge it's feasibilty!
Contestants will know of first heat on registration forms with advise of heat formats, as my post tries to demonstrate I believe the success of comps is based on the quality of the Entertainment this along with contestant supporters fills the tills my main ambition is to make the 'so called' Chasers be more pro active and be seen to work a bit harder for their winnings rather than the usual heat and finals swoop eliminating some of the judging after the judging!
