| From the Where2sing.com forum: Shazzy Deal, You are so blessed to have 3 children, we have seven children and understand where you are comming from. There are a number of people out there with the misconception that as hosts we get paid a lot more than we do. Believe me I wish we did. We have a great circle of friends that are hosts in the Brisbane area and all recieve around the same amount per gig. All of us became hosts not for the money but because we enjoy Karaoke and the profit margins after taking out expences and replacement of equipment, repairs and the purchase of new discs is around 30% profit and then there is tax on top of that. So our wage is below the Qld Minimum award wages. P.S plus we have to pay full price for our drinks and food lol.
